Anatomical Ideas Saturday April 9, 11-1 pm
This section introduces participants to the overall dynamics and systems of the body. We'll talk about the fascial network, muscular principles and functions, skeletal system and how all of these create a dynamic yoga practice.

The Extremities: Arms and Legs Saturday April 9, 2-6 pm
The angle, knee and hip create a kinetic chain and the correct functioning of one is necessary for all. We'll look at the foot/ankle relationship to posture, the knee as one of the most complicated joints in the body and why there is so much potential for injury here, and finally the hips as a powerful mover of the legs and how it creates a platform for the upper half of the body.

Our arms do more than manipulate the world around us. Here we explore hoe the arms help move us through he practice and how similar to the legs they really are. We'll explore the complexity of the shoulder and try to understand its vulnerabilities. Yoga Practice this session.

Psoas, Spine and Breath Sunday April 10 2-6 pm
Here we explore the dynamics of the foundation for our seated postures, the pelvis. We'll also look at the complexity of the spine and understand how and why it functions the way it does. Then we'll dive deep into the core of our body and look at the single most important postural muscle in the body: the Psoas.

Breathing is a primary act of life and a link to the outside world. It also links everything together in the practice. We'll explore our own breathing mechanism, how it feeds the spine and can be restricted by the Poses. Yoga Practice this session.
