Yoga Nidra is known as 'Yogic sleep' and forms a complete experience of deep relaxation, self-healing and integration. It involves systematically relaxing the body, breath and mind as our attention is gently guided deeper and deeper through the levels of our own being, coming to rest in a deep silence and stillness.

A recent Yoga Journal article describes the practice of Yoga Nidra as 'the essential tool for rejuvenation'

Yoga Nidra is practiced in a supine relaxation posture known as Shavasana. The teacher slowly guides you through the stages of Yoga Nidra using a variety of techniques, allowing sufficient time for physiological and psychological release. The mind is engaged and trained to become one-pointed as you are reminded to remain awake and alert and fully present to what is happening at each stage.
