Physical & Energetic Alignment
February 16-18, 2007 at TreeHouse Yoga Center registration
Natural Alignment for Hips and Spine Friday, February 16, 6-9pm
This evening will focus on separating the upper and lower body. Emphasis will be placed on creating balanced, postural alignment to activate muscles and keep joints free from strain. Props will be used to assist students in achieving this natural alignment.
Bending Over Backwards Saturday, February 17, 11am-2pm
Today we will strengthen the back and lengthen the spine. Our warm-up series will emphasize stretches for the shoulders and mid-back. Partner stretches can be utilized for deeper backward bending poses which create greater expansion through the chest and heart center.
Toning for Upper & Lower Body Saturday, February 17, 3-6pm
Moving from our core center to provide over all strength. Our practice will include various strengthening & stretching
movements for both lower and upper body. Flowing yoga sequences increase upper strength while developing back and spinal flexibility.
On the Wall Sunday, February 18, 9am-12pm
The TriYoga system has a particularly well-designed system for working on the wall. A fun workout for practitioners; a session not-to-be missed for teachers. This progressive series has highly useful modifications.
Touching the Earth Sunday, February 18, 1-4pm
Focus on Forward Bends with extra time for pranayama & meditation. Forward bends are restful for the mind and a natural prelude for pranayama & meditation practices which focus the mind within.
