Asana: The workshop will include five asana sessions each session will incorporate dynamic asana sequences to strengthen and awaken the body and then proceed to incorporate subtle breath manipulations within the
posture in order to make it both more mindful and aligned.  It will include the principles that underlie the sequencing of asana practice plus an understanding of the three networks that operate in the body, i.e. the skeletal, muscular and the subtle energy channels.

Pranayama: Each session will also include a pranayama practice with the twin focus to a) facilitate a smooth and free flow of breath in posture, and b) to refine the different kinds of pranayama, particularly the ujjayi in order to make it an effective tool of meditation. The finer the awareness of the breath, the calmer the mind and clearer the mind! The role of arithmetic or the role of meticulous counting in pranayama as well techniques of refining the awareness of the place and movement of breath in the body will be taught.

Meditation: The workshop will include several meditations, some even as part of asana and pranayama practice. All meditations will be breath-meditations and their focus will vary from being meditations of self-enquiry, gratitude, surrender, acceptance, forgiveness, as well as prayer. The meditations will also include nyasa, an ancient
technique of touching different parts of the body while doing pranayama or meditation in order to self-manipulate energy channels as well as a tool of correcting alignment.

Philosophy: A selection of Yoga Sutras will be read and chanted with the aim of understanding them as tools for self-enhancement.  With the view of demystifying the Sutras, key concepts will be elaborated on and incorporated into practice. Some of these concepts being swaroopa or self, vairagya or detachment, klesas or disorders, sradda meaning feeling or commitment, and finally the concept of Iswara or a power greater than oneself.
